RCA graduates selected for the RCA-PwC Mentoring Programme will benefit from 18 months of regular one-to-one mentoring. The mentors are all senior professionals at PwC who dedicate their time and considerable experience to helping turn graduates’ creative ventures into successful businesses, social enterprises or careers.
If you have an entrepreneurial streak and a venture you want to realise, and think you could benefit from one-to-one advice from highly experienced professionals, then we want to hear from you! Send us an email to register your interest in the next programme, planned to start in Autumn 2013.
How the RCA-PwC Mentoring Programme will help you
If you have a creative venture you'd like to start up, the RCA-PwC Mentoring Programme will ensure that you have access to the highest quality help and support as you take your first steps as an independent professional.
Creative people often lack experience and knowledge of the business world. That's why this programme has been designed by FuelRCA and PwC to assist six specially selected RCA graduates in the next stage of their careers. The programme will provide advice on how to succeed as an entrepreneur.
All ventures from all disciplines will be considered. If selected, you’ll be matched with a mentor whose background and experience complements the needs and direction of your venture. During your regular meetings your mentor will be able to help you with common business issues like finance, business planning, contracts, client relationships, pricing, marketing and management.
Who can apply?
- You must have recently graduated from the RCA
- You must be able to attend regular meetings in London
- You must be prepared to fully commit to the programme structure
- Teams, partnerships and individuals are all eligible; however, please be aware that one mentor will be assigned to each venture, not each individual applicant
How will it work?
Each RCA-PwC Mentoring programme will last 18 months, with the first programme (now full) running from October 2011 to April 2013. You must be available to take part in the programme for the full 18 months, and you must be able to meet face to face with your mentor for the first four meetings. You and your mentor must agree to meet a minimum of every two months for approximately two hours, holding initial meetings at either the RCA or PwC offices. There are three masterclasses during the 18-month programme, which you also must attend. The masterclasses will be delivered by PwC on topics relevant to creative ventures.
Participants will be asked to submit a short progress report after each meeting. If accepted for the programme, participants will be asked to sign a contract committing them to the terms of the programme. This is in place to protect both parties and will cover terms of engagement and confidentiality.
